Aloha Daughters of the Goddess,
The winds of change are upon us! I have just returned from my Auntie Nona’s 75th Birthday in Volcano, Hawai’i on the Big Island . It was beautiful to see her still dancing Hula and singing and looking gorgeous! I went with my daughter Jade who is living on O’ahu and we stayed in a lovely room. It was surrounded by tree sized ferns, Ohia Trees and Lehua blossoms and we enjoyed Papaya for breakfast. The message of Aloha and the Grace of Hawai’i continue to call us towards peace and harmony.
It is a time we must continue to gather in community and mobilize. We had a wonderful Durga ritual post election with some of the most powerful women I have known over the last 20 years of Daughters of the Goddess.
Luisah Teish and I are also planning a New Orleans Pilgrimage in March and this group will be limited to no more than 15 women so please let me know if you are interested. We also have our Peace Candle making coming up this month in preparation for the Winter Solstice. Lots of opportunity to gather so don’t get left out feeling lonely and blue. Reach out to your Temple community. We put a lot of thought and time in creating sacred space for womyn and girls so enjoy and participate. And now we Celebrate Guadalupe!

Guadelupe, Mary, Tonantzin has appeared throughout time, Herstory and the world during times of need for many. Come pray to Her for blessings of peace, compassion and mercy. Allow Her Grace to wash over you and heal and cleanse all that no longer serves you. She is a sign of Victory to the Mexican people and a symbol of what will persevere. Her name has been changed, morphed and adapted throughout millennia of conquest, missionary action and imperialistic governments and yet She has still prevailed. Bring the energy of perseverance and continuing to move forth into your spirit, body and soul.
Please bring any statues of any version of Her to the altar whether it be Guadelupe Herself, a Mary statue, Black Madonna, etc. and anything you have that connects to Her worship. We are reclaiming Her in all Her forms. Please bring roses for the altar or some flower of your choice. We will be receiving the healing dirt of one her sanctuarios, which is known to restore illnesses and dis-ease and create miracles.
Also Please see our Participation page for more information on participating in gatherings.
