2018 Tulsi

Aloha Daughters of the Goddess;

As we go deeper into the warm time, and the plants and trees are giving forth their fruits, we are asked to really see who is it that we are ingesting. Plants and trees in all forms have been considered sacred in many cultures. But few are held in as high esteem as Holy Basil, Goddess Tulsi. Come and celebrate with us.

The Tulsi plant is regarded as the holiest of all plants and is often seen as an avatar of Laksmi in plant form. It is regarded as a threshold point between heaven and earth. “A traditional prayer tells that the creator-god Brahma resides in its branches, all Hindu pilgrimage centers reside in its roots, the Ganges flows through its roots, all deities in its stem and its leaves and the Hindu scriptures – the Vedas in the upper part of its branches. It is considered as household god particularly referred as a “Women’s deity”. The Tulsi plant is the manifestation of the Goddess in the vegetable kingdom.” Along with the Divine aspects of this sacred plant there are numerous health benefits to all parts of it. Come and celebrate the Holy & Sacred aspects of this plant, and the Divine presence of Tulsi in our life.

For the altar bring a green candle, and images of Tulsi, or things made from Holy Basil.

Please see our participation page for more information on attending our ceremonies.
